Bored and Board

 Bored is when you have nothing to do,

And you sigh all day long,

BOARD is wood, you use to make stuff,

(But to make stuff you have to be strong.)

The words,  so different, yet sound the same,

How can this truly be?

So different are the meanings,

Every day it befuddles me.

It's the same with meet and meat,

So similar is the sound,

But meat is food you eat,

And you MEET people year-round.

Oh, and bear and bear!

These two are spelled the same!

But you BEAR something or someone,

And bear is an animal's name.

Why is it these words have different meanings,

Yet have the most similar sounds,

They sound the same but don't look the same

To me, that is not profound.
