Why Does Broccoli Taste So Bad?

Why does broccoli taste so bad? 

 It makes us gag and sputter, 

 Why does broccoli taste so bad? 

 (It's even worse with butter.) 

 The thought of it just makes me sick, 

 I push it out my brain, 

 I try to convince my mom it's "ick" 

 But I do it all in vain. "But mom!" 

I say, and push it around my plate, 

 "If I eat it I'm going to DIE!" 

 "Real nice try." she says as I sigh. 

 Why does broccoli taste so bad? 

 This sick and vile thing. 

 Having to eat it makes me sad, 

 To get rid of it I'd do anything.
